Winter Music - snow, music and a love story I've brought back

Some books refuse to stay quietly in the past.

Winter Music was first published in the 1990s, when I was younger, travelled more lightly, and thought nothing of crossing snowbound Europe in search of music, romance, or a good café. The novel later slipped out of print, as books often do, but readers would often ask about it.

The book is now reissued under a new title "Winter Music" which feels truer to what it has always been: a love story shaped by great music, winter cities — Venice, Vienna, Milan — and the particular emotional risks that arise when one is no longer twenty-five and more than a little marked by the past.

For anyone who still believes that love stories can be witty, intelligent, and improved by music and snowy landscapes, Winter Music is now available again.
